Illustration 2 assignment, we illustrated each others’ short stories.

Done and done! I am really really happy with how this turned but also extremely glad I don’t have to work on it any more?? that is often how these things go, I find.

Armor based off this sweet 1500s Italian gear and dragon inspired by this rad spinosaurus!

Creation of the fish lamp by Monica Waugh and Sam Hall (me)! It was a three-week assignment that took a lot of teamwork and a great many hours!

This photoset is missing the ‘learn how to wire lightbulbs in series’ step and I also sadly don’t have many of the process drawings that were so important to the project, but this should give you a pretty good idea of how it went down! Explanations of each step if you click on the photos.

Illustration project! A character inspired by Pinterest crafters.

I spent a lot of time during this assignment thinking about crafting and the parallels with like recreational sports and accidentally got super worked up about it??  I just like when people care about things I guess!

As a sidenote I am generally pro-Pinterest but holy COW that site is a sourcing wasteland.

Dolores Del Prado

Dolores and her husband were successful art forgers, but some time after he died her eyes started to fail her and she started taking a more hands-on approach, casing museums and galleries during the day and returning at night to make off with some valuables!  Her 17-year-old grandson now serves as her reluctant getaway driver.

Illustration 1 project: pick a name from the phone book and create a character from it.  Magazine cover and 3-pose turnaround using at least 5 mediums (Ink, oil, watercolour, collage, digital)

Finally, the anglerfish lamp by Monica Waugh and Sam Hall (me)! Clearly SOME of us Did not Forget To Be Awesome…

This was such a fun project (heavily inspired, of course, by a certain song) and I am so proud of it! The assignment was basically ‘build a lamp’ and this is what we made. Monica and I spent an insane amount of time designing and building da Feesh, as it was affectionately nicknamed. I also did an illustration to go along with it! I have some process stuff to post as well if you want to see how this happened.

Monica would like to add that this is the best fish-lamp of all time!
