i was super into ben caldwell’s fantasy cartooning book back in my early drawing days as you can see here! good times, drew a LOT of dragons

So I go teach an art lesson in my mom’s grade 3 class every week— we’ve done a lot about drawing animals from photos. I usually do a little step-by-step demo like this on the whiteboard or something to get started.

(I have a lot of experience with whiteboards as you may recall)

EDIT: UGH I just realized I could have made him catching the magnet with his tongue, frig

little dog dragon! been drawing lots of dogs lately, no complaints here

 you can tell me my dog is not the prettiest but i am not going to believe you

your dog can also be the prettiest too though, i don’t mind!

i was like ‘let’s round out these character dynamics’ but really i just wanted to draw these guys hanging out, then i thought i’d draw them at end-of-story happily-ever-after-party because i really wanted to do fancy costume design OKAY this was pretty self-indulgent all-round I guess is what i’m saying here

my mom really likes the princess though so i’ll go ahead and award myself an A++ NEVERTHELESS

the one piece i did in intro drawing before i had to drop it. *le sign*

however! i did get as close as i possibly could to doing a bear-holding-a-shark in class and therefore i consider this exercise to be a resounding success

i did some characters and stuff partially inspired by this song by AWOLNATION (by parts of it anyway! not the raps so much) a little while ago, then got carried away a bit, now they have costumes and backstories and plots! oops??

this lady is also from the same story, you will be seeing these guys again.

The Captain of the Queen’s Guard, a minor-ish character in a thing I’ve been toying with half-heartedly, makin’ up backstories and things!

She would have started in the Guard young as a trainee, and went through the ranks by being the toughest and the smartest and just generally a total badass. She got some decorative trim to denote her rank which she thinks is silly but oh well
